For the past 45 years John has pursued an interdisciplinary study of: cultural anthropology, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, mythology, addiction recovery, family systems, clinical therapy, leadership, and systems analysis to understand how and why people make the choices they do.

John holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University and has received 120 hrs of therapeutic training in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy. Following the publication of his first book Reclaiming the life we lost along the way (2014) John launched a series of workshops based on his book and his personal and professional expertise in the fields of addiction recovery and human development.
In addition to his academic credentials John draws on 47 years of addiction recovery, 20 years of frontline and management experience with the Pepsi Bottling Group, 15 years as a management consultant and human development specialist helping organizations create psychologically healthy workspaces and effective organizational systems. For the past 5 years John has been employed by Fraser Health Authority as a Substance Use Clinician providing crisis intervention, stabilization, and clinical counselling for individuals suffering from mental health and substance use challenges.
John currently resides in Langley, British Columbia, Canada
