Let's know more about AAMNAH

I am a seer, a mirror and a guide. For the past 15 years I have had the pleasure of doing what I really love, accompanying people on the journey to know, accept and appreciate their whole selves. After training as a psychologist from Columbia University in 2008, I have worked in community and corporate settings and private practice in the U.S., Pakistan, Turkey and the UAE. Working with diverse groups of people to help them take aligned and effective action in their lives has been essential to my sense of fulfillment in my career. Many of these clients have been leaders in the fields of education, real estate, finance, technology, hospitality, healthcare and philanthropy.

“Know thyself” reads the inscription at The Temple of Apollo at Delphi from 5 B.C. This age old call for self knowledge in relation to others and the Universe has been at the heart of human development for centuries. It is my goal in therapy to use empathy and curiosity in understanding the values, aspirations, personal and professional environments of my clients. This honesty with the self often reveals the answers to our struggles allowing us to show up better for ourselves and to create a positive impact on others.

Sometimes the very same coping mechanisms that have served you to survive can hinder your ability to thrive. Unconscious biases and fears and societal and cultural programming that shape our behaviors can also block us from transcending to the next level. I support my clients with a number of clinical modalities including EMDR and Brainspotting, to identify and shift limiting beliefs that hamper their influence and abilities. Complimentary to this, I teach mindfulness and somatic tools to regulate the nervous system, helping leaders manage stress that comes with responsibility, and become agile and skillful in their responses, managing crises and improving interpersonal effectiveness.

I am based in Dubai and outside of work, I am mother to a budding teenager and a very spirited dog. I refill my cup with yoga, energy and spiritual healing, dance, good food and getting competitive with board games.
